![]() If we could, from start, all work like this, one guy makes map, another make uniforms, another make historical battles. However, I really like you idea of "resource", that's also why I make my uniform as "pack", so they could be used by other mods. Maybe one day I'd think it's worth a try. And I don't have time to "waste" trying to part uniform from NTW to Shogun, while I still have my NTW mod to finish.īut well, if you can really make nice maps. It would work well because their would be a solid base resource to start with. Suppose NTW allowed making new maps: making different maps as resource, to create different campaigns (in Britain, Campaign of Russia, War of 1812) would then be a very good idea: you could make maps, I'd make some faction / uniforms, someone could make the scenarios. So if I wanted to port my mod to it, I would need to redo everything: units, buildings, ships. For example, I'm not sure I could take an Napoleonic grenadier, and have it work in Shogun quickly The problem is you are basing it on Shogun, which is well, centered on Japan, and it not compatible "quickly" with NTW I think. Honnestly? Not really, because we are lacking some base. Build a hub of modders resources to make the process of modding quicker and easier for everyone to make much more comprehensive mods.ĭo you think an idea like that would work or be popular? The point of the community though is that if I made the European map, and you made factions for it, you could upload the factions to the community and I could use some of them for the Britain and France map. If people were making suggestions of which kind of map they wanted to see, after the European map I could make another one (presumably by that point I would be more skilled at it and hopefully help train other people). And then go on to make other maps (such as the larger map of Europe that you shared). The point I am kind of making though is that once I had produced my map of Britain and France, I would upload it to the resources section. I know what you mean and I like the map you have planned.įor the preference of my mod I would want the scale to be much larger, so a massive map of the British Isles and France would be more appealing to me. ![]() These are just my opinions and I know people may disagree but I think it would make a much more realistic, challenging and fun game. It shouldn't be so easy to capture the whole of England in one swoop!ĬA sometimes do come out with smaller maps such as Caesar in Gaul but the next NTW2 or ETW2 will be made to sell to as many people as possible and not made to a more realistic scale. To fix this, the campaign map needs to be much smaller (The British Isles and France could be one map for example). It would also make it more fun for the player as they have much more of a challenge. This way a smaller army could cause a bigger army great problems moving from one place to another (much more realistic). What should happen, is an army should have many obstacles (which valley to go down, more bridges to cross, the list goes on and on). ![]() An army can, for example, march from Edinburgh to London with the only obstacle being an army sat in the open and then a battle ensues. The main reason I think the campaign map needs modded is because in TW they have lost any real geo-strategic importance. And then waiting on it to have a good start as well! I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for ETW2/NTW2.
